Eighth Grade Learning Community Agreement

The Eighth Grade class at St. Clare School decided upon the following three goals for the school year:

1. All students will be successful in the classroom.
2. All students will act as role models to the rest of the school.
3. All students will enjoy their experience at St. Clare School.

In order to achieve these goals, the class created the following expectations for all students:

In order for all students to be successful in the classroom, eighth grade students will:

• always participate
• work to their potential
• study effectively

In order for all students to act as role models, eighth grade students will:

• be silver boxes
• demonstrate appropriate behavior
• take responsibility for their actions

In order for all students to enjoy their experience, eighth grade students will:

• be respectful of everyone’s actions, feelings, opinions, property, wishes, and space
• treat others as you want to be treated
• include everyone

In order to achieve these goals, the class created the following expectations for all teachers:

In order for all students to be successful in the classroom, teachers will:

• be understanding
• use a variety of teaching methods
• challenge us

In order for all students to act as role models, teachers will:

• act as a role model to us
• provide opportunities for us to work with younger grades
• monitor our behavior

In order for all students to enjoy their experience, teachers will:

• hold us accountable for our actions
• monitor our behavior
• be available
