The Silver Box Program recognizes Christian values. When you are kind, compassionate, respectful, helpful, and cooperative to others, you are living like a Christian. At St. Clare School, "Silver Boxes" gives you special recognition and attention for going out of your way to be extra specially kind. So when you help another person, I, or Ms. Dominguez, or any other teacher may tell you that you are a Silver Box. You don’t actually get a silver box, but you will feel very special. You will get a badge to wear all day and other children may ask you how you got it. You can tell them that you were kind to. You will also get a special paper to show your parent.
After Morning Assembly, children put lunch tickets, Thursday envelopes, parent notes, etc., in the yellow basket then walk quietly to their seats and read quietly for five minutes.
When a child is tardy, he/she must go to the office and get a tardy stamp from the School Office.
When a child finishes a task early, she may work on their workbooks/wordbooks quietly.
When a student needs help, she must raise her hand quietly.
Morning Recess is from 9:45am to 10:15am each day.
When lining up for recess, Teacher will call on the table that is quiet to line up. Ball carriers should line up last since they need to carry the ball crate. The children may not talk while getting their snacks because the other classes are working. Teachers will remind the children to use the restroom during recess.
After recess, children walk in quietly to their seats and put their heads down on the table, relax and listen to classical music for about 2 minutes (No talking!!!)
Lunch is from 12:00pm to 12:40pm each day.
Before lunch, we pray “Thank you God”
After lunch, children walk in quietly to their seats and put their heads down on the table, relax and listen to classical music for about 2 minutes (No talking!!!). Children get their mats and find a place to rest. Teacher will play a story on tape or classical music for 30 minutes. (No talking!!!)
After rest time, students are able to use the rest room. Students are not allowed to talk while waiting outside the bathroom since it is very disruptive to other classes. No one is allowed to come back into the classroom without a teacher.
At Dismissal time, we say the “Our Father” prayer
